Shiny Pokémon hunting is a challenging quest in Pokémon games. Trainers aim to find rare Shiny Pokémon with unique appearances, despite their equal gameplay stats. To increase the odds, they build "Shiny Chains" by repeatedly capturing the same Pokémon. Specific commands help track progress, and Shiny rates improve with longer chains. Collectors highly value these elusive creatures, making Shiny hunting a thrilling aspect of the Pokémon gaming world.

Challenging Pursuit:

Shiny hunting is considered challenging and can be time-consuming, as the odds of encountering a Shiny Pokémon are relatively low. It requires patience and dedication from trainers who aim to build high Shiny Chains.

Value of Shiny Pokémon:

Shiny Pokémon have no statistical advantage over their normal counterparts in battles or gameplay. However, they are highly sought after by collectors and are considered valuable due to their rarity and unique appearance.

Shiny Hunt:

Shiny hunting is a popular activity among Pokémon enthusiasts who seek the thrill of capturing rare and visually distinct Shiny Pokémon.

  • Shiny Hunt: Shiny hunting involves the pursuit of Shiny Pokémon. Each time you capture a specific Pokémon, your "chain" increases. The longer your chain, the higher your chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon of that species.

  • Commands:

p!sh <pokemon name>: This command is used to add a specific Pokémon to your Shiny hunting list.
p!sh: This command is used to view your current Shiny Chain, which indicates how many of a particular Pokémon you've captured.

Calculating Shiny Rate:

The base chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon is 1 in 4096.

The formula for calculating the Shiny rate is given by:

  • fn = 4096 / (2 + streak / 30)
  • Chance = 1 / fn

As your chain (streak) increases, the Shiny rate improves, making it more likely to encounter a Shiny Pokémon.

Some Shiny Rates: Examples of Shiny rates based on streaks. For instance:

  • If your streak is 100, your chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon is 1 in 1384.
  • If your streak reaches 200, your chances improve to 1 in 1124.
  • An impressive streak of 300 further boosts your odds to 1 in 1005.
